Sometimes after reading a bunch of comics I get the urge to draw and write in my own, but sometimes it backfires and does the complete opposite. Making me feel like a failure and that I obviously can't stand out amongst all the other artists out there…It's a hit and miss.

Yes, but I think the best piece of advice I've heard (I'm paraphrasing here) was something along the lines of, it's not the Olympics, you can fight with your worst skills. Sure, there are good works that become famous, and bad works that fade into obscurity, but there's also bad words that gain a huge following and amazing works that fade into obscurity. It's not about good or bad, it's about creating something only can bring to the world. And just as you can never know what will become popular, you can never tell what be exactly what something needs to hear to feel better.

Very true words, and very encouraging too! I really put a lot of pressure on myself to make things 'perfect'. It actually was a huge struggle to make this webcomic because in my mind my little comics we not 'masterpieces' of fine art. They weren't my 'best work'. But now, I'm so happy that I pushed through that internal struggle and now have a happy little comic. It doesn't mean it's still not hard to demand perfection from myself at times… Great advice and thank you for sharing!

The webcomic struggle is real.
